A Letter Of Welcome From APTA President & CEO Paul P. Skoutelas, And APTA Chair Dorval Carter, Jr.

Paul P. Skoutelas

Thousands of public transit professionals, business leaders, policymakers, and innovators from around the world will gather to reimagine our industry’s future at the APTA 2023 TRANSform Conference & EXPO, on October 8-11 in Orlando, FL, served by the LYNX system.

After a highly successful event in 2021, APTA returns to Orlando with North America’s largest public transportation-related exhibition and annual meeting to address exciting opportunities and new priorities. This year’s theme is “Next Starts Here,” and the TRANSform Conference & EXPO are designed to be the once-in-a-generation catalyst that will shape the future of public transportation.

The public transportation industry is extensive and complex, and APTA’s TRANSform Conference & EXPO brings together all facets of our industry. More than 800 exhibitors are anticipated to fill the Orange County Convention Center’s show floor with new products, services, and hands-on demonstrations, as well as the most advanced buses, rail cars, and autonomous vehicles. In addition to the exhibits, APTA’s TRANSform Conference offers exclusive educational programs, technical tours, and networking events where attendees are introduced to new people, new businesses, and new ways of thinking.

Learning sessions will focus on such major topics as recruiting frontline workers; examining fare policies, digital collection tools, and innovative funding initiatives; investing in zero emission electric buses along with the infrastructure to support them; expanding access to under-served communities; and enhancing the customer experience to help win back riders. Attendees also will be able to share their views on APTA’s work to collaborate with the electric utility industry; measure the value of transit beyond ridership numbers; and identify short-term and long-term workforce diversity, retention, and training strategies.

The future has arrived and what happens next, happens here. APTA looks forward to welcoming you to Orlando in October!

Sincerely,

Paul P. Skoutelas

President & CEO
