APTA Mobility Conference Set For April 23-26 In Minneapolis
The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Mobility Conference is scheduled for April 23-26, 2023, in Minneapolis, MN. The Mobility Conference addresses the critical priorities and challenges facing bus and paratransit systems, and explores the changing environment in which systems operate in today’s mobility landscape. Events include specialty workshops, APTA’s Bus Display, the Products and Services Showcase and technical tours.
The Mobility Conference is designed for bus and paratransit system employees and managers, planners, board members, contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and consultants. The lead hotel for the Mobility Conference this year is the Hilton Minneapolis. All committee meetings and education sessions will be at the Hilton.
Meanwhile, the Bus Display will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Monday, April 24. The Products and Services Showcase will also be held at the convention center, on Tuesday, April 25. The Hilton and the convention center are connected by a skywalk. Overflow hotel accommodations will be at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, also connected to the convention center by skywalk.
The event’s schedule includes:
- Welcome Reception, from 6 to 7 p.m., on Sunday, April 23;
- Various events on Monday, April 24 including — Meet the Primes/Agencies: A Small Business Networking Breakfast,from 6:45 to 8 a.m.; Maintenance Managers Workshop,from 8 to 3:30 p.m.; Opening General Session, from 8:15 to 9:45 a.m.; Bus Display, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (lunch starts at noon); The Emerging Leaders Program Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremony, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.; and, General Session: Federal Transit Administration Update, from 4 to 5 p.m. Also taking place on April 24 are educational sessions;
- Various events on Tuesday, April 25 including — General Session: Safety & Security Awards, from 8 to 9:30 a.m.; and The Products and Services Showcase, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (lunch starts at noon). Also taking place on April 25 are educational sessions; and,
- Various events on Wednesday, April 26 including — Closing General Session, from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m.; and various educational sessions.
APTA will no longer require proof of vaccination status or a negative test to attend the Mobility Conference. Due to challenges recovering from the pandemic, however, the 2023 International Bus Roadeo will not be held at this year’s conference.
