SORTA Board Welcomes Four New Trustees

Members of Metro’s governing body, the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) Board of Trustees, swore in four new members, marked the reappointment of two sitting members, and expressed their gratitude to one outgoing member at a recent meeting.

The SORTA Board consists of 16 volunteer members, 11 of whom are appointed by Hamilton County and five appointed by the city of Cincinnati. Three of Hamilton County’s appointees are non-voting members representing Butler, Clermont and Warren counties.

The board welcomed the following new members:

  • Pete Metz; VP, Civic & Regional Partnerships, Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber (City of Cincinnati appointee);
  • Jay Bedi; business owner, part-owner of the Delta by Marriot hotel in Sharonville (Hamilton County appointee, Warren County representative, non-voting);
  • Anthony “Tony” Brice, Jr.; Laborers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) Local 625 Recording Secretary & Field Representative (Hamilton County appointee, labor representative); and,
  • Kazava “KZ” Smith; Pastor, Corinthian Baptist Church (Hamilton County appointee).

The Board also announced the reappointment of two sitting members, Sonja Taylor (Hamilton County appointee) and Gwen Robinson (City of Cincinnati appointee).

Finally, the Board expressed its gratitude to outgoing member Heidi Black, who served as chair of multiple committees, including the Finance Committee, over her five years of service on the board.
