WeGo Journey Pass Enrollment Surpasses 7,000 Participants

WeGo Public Transit (Nashville, TN) has scheduled more Journey Pass enrollment events. Journey Pass is funded through “Choose How You Move” and is Nashville’s first ever income-based fare-free transit program.

“Journey Pass gives eligible Davidson County, TN, residents free access to rides on WeGo Public Transit and makes travel easier and more accessible for people living on limited income,” according to a press release. “With 45 registration events thus far, WeGo has enrolled 7,200 Davidson County residents with three years of free transit access, providing more than 330,000 free rides. The 7,200 passes equate to $16.9 million in transportation aid over the three-year life of the passes.”

All enrollees must present a valid photo ID indicating Davidson County residency. Separate events are scheduled by the Office of Homeless Services that will provide additional support for those enrollees. Homeless service providers should contact OHS for the schedule.

SNAP enrollees must provide proof of eligibility from the Tennessee Department of Human Services (DHS). For a full list of Journey Pass events, visit WeGoTransit.com/JourneyPass.

The Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority (Nashville MTA) and the Regional Transportation Authority of Middle Tennessee (RTA) are operating bodies of WeGo Public Transit, which serves 27 local bus routes, nine regional bus routes, and one train serving Davidson and Wilson counties.
