2 Motorcoach Companies Announce Expansion Plans As Burlington (IA) Trailways Family Exits Industry

To ensure the communities within the Quad Cities area, eastern Iowa, and western Illinois continue to receive the high-quality charter service they’ve grown accustomed to, CIT Charters, Inc., dba CIT Signature Transportation, has announced it is purchasing motorcoaches and a facility located at 8735 Northwest Blvd., Davenport, IA, from Burlington (IA) Trailways.

“All vehicles will be rebranded as CIT Signature Transportation. Hiring will begin soon, with Quad Cities operations expected to launch before the end of 2025,” according to the CIT website. “CIT Signature Transportation is honored to expand into this market and continue the Iowa-based, family-owned standard of service the region has known and trusted since 1988. CIT Signature Transportation currently operates in Ames, IA, and Des Moines, IA; the Davenport site (within the Quad Cities) will become its third base of operations.”

Also, Windstar Lines announced on Instagram the company recently purchased certain assets and will be taking over the tour and charter bookings of Burlington Trailways/Trailways Travel. Winstar also announced it expects to hire four employees of the charter and tour division, while purchasing the tour office building, four motorcoaches, and offering jobs to the motorcoach drivers and tour hosts.
