Busworld North America Scheduled For February 4-7 In Detroit, MI
Busworld North America is scheduled February 4-7, 2023, at Huntington Place convention center, in downtown Detroit, MI.
In partnership with the American Bus Association (ABA), Busworld North America is designed for transportation professionals involved with motorcoaches, shuttle buses, transit buses and school buses. The event will include industry experts, market analysts and futurists who will discuss the latest in trends, opportunities and challenges facing bus/motorcoach professionals.
“Since 1971, Busworld has organized global events for the bus and motorcoach industry. From live exhibitions and conferences to online events, organizers bring bus people together to network, conduct business, exchange knowledge, and have fun. At Busworld, business and pleasure go hand-in-hand,” according to Busworld North America. “It’s the platform where the latest innovations and trends in the world of buses and motorcoaches are being revealed, displayed and discussed.
“There are currently eight regions where Busworld is active: Europe, Turkey, India, North America, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Russia and Central Asia. At the mother of all events, Busworld Europe, in Brussels, Belgium, products and services are displayed to professionals visiting from over 140 countries.”
Who Should Attend?
According to Busworld North America organizers, the following transportation professionals who will get the most out of the event are: Private & public bus and coach operators (city, intercity and long distance/tourism); Authorities (Transport Department); Heads and members of related industry associations; Manufacturers of spare parts, components and accessories; Manufacturers of navigation, maintenance and support systems; Manufacturers of bus bodies, tires, lubricants, etc.; Companies active in the bus & coach aftermarket; Traders; Leasing and insurance representatives; Mechanics and engineers; Bus and coach drivers; and, Transport schools and research institutes.
Events Schedule
Busworld North America will feature numerous speakers and an exhibit area showcasing the latest in buses, motorcoaches, related products and services. The conference takes place Sunday, February 5 through Tuesday, February 7. The exhibition occurs Saturday, February 4 through Monday, February 6. This staggered schedule allows participation from both attendees and exhibitors.
All Busworld North America attendees will have access to many events associated with the ABA Marketplace, which takes place at the same venue.
Busworld North America will feature many educational session topics in Detroit, focusing on the transit bus, motorcoach and school bus segments.
The first two days of educational sessions will cover “digitalization of the bus and motorcoach industry.” Topics will include: Lessons learned from aviation; Infotainment & ancillary revenue; Connectivity and IoT for improved operations and ridership; and, Ticketing and frictionless payments. Speakers for those sessions will represent American Airlines, New York City Metropolitan Area, Detroit DoT, ADASTEC, Endava and others.
“We’ll end the second day, and spend the entire third day, of educational sessions taking a look at what today’s zero emission options are for 250-plus mile applications in the industry,” according to Busworld North America. “We will also answer, ‘What is the best technology? What about the required infrastructure?’
“Busworld North America will also cover a session on, ‘Fleet Operator & Utility Providers: Models for Collaboration.’ Best practices of key players will be examined.”
Another session will focus on how higher energy bills are driving operators into smart energy management. That becomes a must in order to remain competitive, especially when electric vehicles are being deployed.
“During this one-hour session, attendees will learn how to keep energy costs under control, as well as focus on risks that electric and hydrogen vehicles come with, related to insurance, safety and depot adaptations,” according to Busworld North America. “Lancer Insurance, MCI, Sunline Transit and other company representatives will provide input on the topic.”
