DeMitro Appointed To Laketran Board Of Trustees; Pizmoht And McNamee Re-appointed

Dione DeMitro

On June 23, 2025, Laketran (Lake County, OH) swore in three board members during the agency’s monthly meeting after being appointed by the Lake County Commissioners.

The Lake County Board of Commissioners appointed Dione DeMitro and re-appointed current trustees Michael Pizmoht and Donna McNamee to new three-year terms on the nine-member board that governs Lake County’s regional public transportation system.

DeMitro currently serves as president and CEO of United Way of Lake County, bringing decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, community development, and social service advocacy. She began her role at United Way in 2023 and has been instrumental in launching several initiatives aimed at improving access to education, healthcare, and financial stability for Lake County residents.

“I’ve spent most of my career working and volunteering with nonprofits that support our community’s most vulnerable residents, so I deeply understand how essential public transportation is in connecting people to the resources they need,” DeMitro said. “I’ve always been proud to have Laketran serving Lake County, and I’m truly honored to be appointed to the board. I look forward to contributing to Laketran’s mission and ensuring it continues to be a vital service for our community.”

Board President Brian Falkowski expressed strong support for the appointments: “We are pleased to welcome Dione DeMitro to the board. Her leadership and deep understanding of community needs will be a tremendous asset. We’re also grateful to have Michael and Donna continue their service. Each of them brings valuable insight and a strong commitment to improving transit in Lake County. I look forward to working alongside them to guide Laketran’s future.”

Pizmoht has served on the board since 2023. He is the Director of Data Architecture at Sherwin Williams and former Laketran Park-n-Ride commuter, bringing both professional and personal experience to his role.

McNamee has been a dedicated board member since 2001 and currently chairs the board’s Operations Committee. She is recognized for her extensive knowledge of ADA policy and advocacy for services that support seniors and people with disabilities.

The Laketran Board of Trustees is responsible for the fiduciary oversight of the agency, including setting policy, approving budgets, and guiding long-term planning. Trustees are appointed by the Lake County Commissioners to serve three-year terms. Visit Laketran.com.
