Gray Line Tennessee Celebrates 50 Years

Gray Line Tennessee is celebrating its 50th anniversary as a leader in transportation services in Nashville, TN.

In 1973, brothers Chris and Dennis Levering founded Nashville’s original Country & Western Tours to offer customized sightseeing services to residents and tourists alike. In 1988, the company became a Gray Line licensee and was renamed. Gray Line Tennessee continues a tradition of exceptional customer service and high-quality standards.

The legacy of Gray Line Tennessee lives on through Kristin Levering, Senior Vice President, and daughter of founder Chris Levering. With more than 20 years of experience and growth alongside the success of Gray Line Tennessee, Levering strives to uphold this legacy and cultivate the spirit of excellence that was once modeled by her father.

“50 years is certainly very special to my heart,” Kristin Levering said. “My Father, Chris, gave me one specific task before he passed away: ‘Take this company to where we wanted it to be.’ That has been my challenge, my heartache, my joy, and my commitment from that very moment.

“The legacy of Gray Line continues through not only my father Chris, who instilled this passion, but also through all of the Gray Line Tennessee employees who have helped build and sustain excellence for five decades.”

The company has celebrated many milestones over the last 50 years, ranging from partnerships with every professional and college sports team in Nashville to notable names such as The Grand Ole Opry, CMA Fest, and many more of Music City’s most iconic and historic sites.

“Over the last several years, Gray Line Tennessee has rediscovered its roots and rekindled the pride that was such an integral part of our company’s original success,” President and CEO Chuck Abbott said. “Just like Chris and his brother Dennis were pioneers in their day, we are always looking for innovative ways to provide a great customer experience, and help our employees share in the pride of being the very best.”

Gray Line Tennessee has proven to grow alongside the city, offering new transportation needs such as The Fan Hop, Neighborhood Hop, and Black Car Services.

Special deals and celebrations are in the works for Gray Line Tennessee and will be announced as the year progresses. Gray Line Tennessee’s custom anniversary logo will be used during the year to commemorate its 50th Anniversary. Visit GrayLineTN.com.
