Annette Darrow

IndyGo (Indianapolis, IN) announced that Annette Darrow has been appointed chief operations officer. Darrow, a 33-year transit industry veteran with more than 30 years of service at IndyGo, has served in key leadership roles across the agency and most recently as senior director of service planning.

“Annette has served with great focus and intention, engaging with all teams to understand our successes and areas of opportunity. She’s gained unique insights and refreshing ideas that will elevate IndyGo to the next level,” IndyGo President and CEO Jennifer Pyrz said. “I’m excited to welcome Annette’s experience and expertise to our leadership team and look forward to a smooth transition into our next chapter.”

Darrow began her career as a student at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, working in roles ranging from coach operator to transportation supervisor. She joined IndyGo in 1996 and has held leadership positions including manager of customer service, manager of planning and scheduling and director of service planning.

Under Darrow’s leadership, IndyGo’s service planning department expanded to include a dedicated Operations Performance group focused on using data to drive operational efficiency and business decisions. She has been instrumental in some of IndyGo’s most transformative initiatives, including securing more than $100 million in grant funding, deploying new technologies, leading four Comprehensive Operational Analyses, developing the Julia M. Carson Transit Center, planning three Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lines and spearheading the Marion County Transit Plan.
