Irizar Group Announces Change Of Leadership In North America

Irizar Group has announced that Axier Etxezarreta is returning to his position as CEO and President of Irizar USA. Etxezarreta is well known as an executive in the team of Irizar USA and led the company with ardor in its initial years.

“Having previously worked at Irizar USA, Etxezarreta brings with him a deep knowledge of the North American market in passenger transport and a vast network of relationships within this challenging industry. Since 2020, Etxezarreta has been dedicated to developing the Mediterranean markets in Europe and developing the strategy for sustainable transportation in the motorcoach and EV sectors. He is now shifting his focus to North America to fully develop Irizar’s presence and consolidate Irizar as a major supplier in North America,” according to an Irizar Group release.

Throughout his 20 years within the Irizar Group, Etxezarreta has worked in different countries in a range of different executive positions, including managing director of Irizar Brazil and commercial manager for European markets.

“I am very happy to come back and continue the strategy of developing the North American market for the Irizar Group. The past few years due to COVID-19 have posed major challenges to businesses in many industries, especially in transportation, but Irizar has demonstrated its commitment to North American operators and has sustained its operations, offering the best service for operators. Now it is time to realign the path of Irizar USA and push it forward,” Etxezarreta said.

The announcement follows the personal decision of Daniel Scarpino de Castro to leave the Irizar Group after 19 years of contribution. Irizar Group wishes him the very best in his future endeavors. Visit www.irizarusa.com.
