Laketran (OH) To Provide Free Rides For Primary Election Voters
Lake County, OH, residents can take Laketran’s Local Routes 1-9 or schedule a door-to-door Dial-a-Ride free to their polling locations for a March 19 primary election.
Free rides are also available for early voting before Election Day at the Lake County Board of Elections at 105 Main St., in Painesville, OH. Early voting continues until March 17.
“Transportation should never be a barrier for someone to exercise their right to vote,” Laketran CEO Ben Capelle said. “We’re more than happy to make sure our residents have access to the primary so they can get to the polls or vote early.”
Polling locations in Lake County are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on March 19. There is no in-person voting at the Board of Elections on Election Day.
Residents who prefer to take Laketran’s Local Routes 1-9 simply need to inform their bus drivers when they board that they are going to vote or just voted — and the trip will be free.
Dial-a-Ride, Laketran’s door-to-door service, will also provide rides to early voting or polling locations at no charge and requires a reservation of 1 to 12 business days in advance. Visit laketran.com.
