LAUSD Students Learn About Future Opportunities While Visiting BYD Coach & Bus Facility

LAUSD (Los Angeles Unified School District) students from Carson (CA) High School got a glimpse of a clean future. They rode in an all-electric BYD transit bus to the BYD Coach & Bus Facility, located in Lancaster, CA, for a field trip.

The students are members of EXP, which is a Southern California nonprofit that helps young people gain experience and build the confidence they need to succeed in school, work and life.

During the visit, the students were able to view the BYD manufacturing process from start to finish. As they traveled from the welding station to the final assembly line, the EXP students witnessed the lessons they studied applied in the real world.

“Our students were not only shown a multitude of career opportunities, but (the visit) really highlighted what made (the BYD Coach & Bus Facility) a special place. I heard nothing but glowing reviews from the students the entire bus ride home,” EXP Program Manager Eva Levingston said.

The EXP students also heard speeches from two BYD engineers, followed by a Q&A session.
