Longtime Bus Industry Magazine Publisher Frank Di Giacomo Dies At 84

Former METRO and School Bus Fleet (SBF) Publisher Frank A. Di Giacomo died in Cherry Hill, NJ, on May 9, 2024. He was 84.

Di Giacomo was involved in the public transportation, private motorcoach, and pupil transportation industries since 1981, when Bobit Business Media hired him as eastern sales manager for METRO and SBF. In 1991 and 1992, Di Giacomo was named publisher for SBF and METRO, respectively.

“Frank was not only my boss for many years, but also a friend and mentor,” METRO Executive Editor Alex Roman said. “He will not only be missed by me, but also the many people he touched at Bobit (METRO and SBF’s parent company), as well as in the public transit, private motorcoach, and pupil transportation industries.”

Frank A. Di Giacomo was the father of Frank A. (Kelly) Di Giacomo, Jr., and the late Vincent M. Di Giacomo, and grandfather of Emily Di Giacomo and Michael Di Giacomo.

Born and raised in Camden, NJ, he attended Gloucester Catholic High School and St. Joseph’s University.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation and funeral on Wednesday, May 15, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at The Catholic Community of Christ Our Light Church, 402 North Kings Hwy., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.  Interment will be at the New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ. Funeral arrangements are being made by Bocco Funeral Home, of Cherry Hill, NJ.
