Trans-Bridge Lines Hosts Local Fire Department For Bus Emergency Management Training

Trans-Bridge Lines, Inc., a leading motorcoach company based in Bethlehem, PA, that serves the Lehigh Valley and beyond, recently opened its facility to the Woodlawn/South Whitehall Engine 32 Fire Department for a comprehensive training session on bus emergency management. The initiative reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to community safety, preparedness, and collaboration with first responders.

Firefighters participated in the hands-on training, which was designed to provide essential knowledge and practical experience in managing potential emergencies involving motorcoaches. The session included detailed walkthroughs of two types of bus models, instruction on emergency exits and mechanical systems, and simulations of potential rescue scenarios. The training was conducted by Trans-Bridge Lines Training Manager Brendan Stanczyk.

“Safety is at the core of what we do,” Trans-Bridge Lines President Tom JeBran said. “We want local first responders to be as prepared as possible should they ever need to respond to an incident involving a motorcoach. Opening our facilities for this kind of training is a win for everyone — our passengers, our community, and the fire departments.”

Firefighters had the opportunity to explore the interior and exterior features of the buses, including emergency window exits, roof hatches, and battery disconnect systems. Trans-Bridge Lines’ staff were on hand to explain key systems and answer questions about typical challenges that may arise during an emergency.

“Understanding the layout and mechanics of the buses gives emergency responders a huge advantage in emergency situations,” Stanczyk said. “We’re honored to equip our local heroes with the information they need in order to help others.”

The training is part of a broader effort by Trans-Bridge Lines to strengthen partnerships with local emergency services and raise awareness about bus safety.
