Wabtec is introducing its new Vapor vShield® full enclosure operator protection doors, announced John Condon, Vice President of Sales, North America.

“Vapor vShield® operator protection doors are custom designed for transit agency fleets where driver safety is a concern,” according to a press release. “The new Vapor vShield full enclosure door includes a heavy-duty lower section, with a secure anti-rattle door latch mechanism, providing a complete critical defensive barrier against assaults and unwanted passenger interactions.”

Anti-reflective, anti-glare laminated safety glass features a contoured design that provides direct unobstructed views to mirrors, and quick replacement glazing. An optional MERV 15 rated filter improves air quality, removes airborne bacteria and irritants including dust, mold and pollen.

The release added: “Ideal for both new and retrofit applications, the Vapor vShield® full enclosure operator protection door meets industry safety standards and ADA regulations. Optional operator comfort and convenience features include an easy open power window and increased cockpit ventilation with two integrated, variable-speed high-velocity fans. Installation kits are available for all applications.”
